WHY
USE FRLS ?
Power
& Control Cables PVC sheathed although adequate
working conditions, prove hazardous in a high temperature
when exposed to fire from an external source spreads
rapidly in such conditions causing enormous damage.
In addition to the danger of fire spreading rapidly,
the black smoke generated lower visibility, hindering
fire fighting & rescue operations. Acid fumes
released by the fire are corrosives, causing great
damage to sensitive electrical & Electronic
equipment. The ERLS (Fire Retardant Low Smoke )
compound has special properties.
-
High
resistance of flame propagation.
-
High
resistance of ignition.
-
Low
smoke emission thereby not obstructing visibility.
-
Low
emission of Acid fumes, reducing corrosion.
-
Low
Toxic gas generation.
-
Critical
oxygen index much greater than general purpose
PVC.
-
High
temperature Index i.e. greater than 250°C
as against 120°C for general purpose PVC.
HR
PVC : Max. Conductor temperature for continues operations
for HR PVC is 85°C
